The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) decided at its October 2026 monetary policy meeting to keep its monetary policy rate (TPM) at 5.50 % a year, according to its statement of October 30. The 1-day repo facility rate stays at 6.00 % and the overnight deposit rate at 4.75 %.

Why it held

The BCRD cited international uncertainty from prolonged armed conflicts, which have kept oil, fuel and other commodity prices high, and forecasts showing domestic inflation continuing to converge toward the 4.0 % ± 1.0 % target range by year-end. Year-on-year inflation fell from 5.67 % in June to 5.12 % in September 2026; core inflation eased from 4.96 % to 4.61 %, within the target range.
