Analysts expect the Dominican peso at RD$62.10 per dollar at the end of 2026, up from RD$60.06 in September's survey
In the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic's October 2026 Macroeconomic Expectations Survey, the median expected exchange rate for year-end rose to RD$62.10 per US dollar, from RD$60.06 in September. Expected 12-month inflation fell from 4.70 % to 4.50 %, and expected 2026 GDP growth held at 4.50 %.

Analysts surveyed by the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) in its October 2026 Macroeconomic Expectations Survey (EEM), published on October 27, expect the exchange rate to close the year at RD$62.10 per US dollar (median of responses), up from RD$60.06 in the September survey. The survey reflects analysts' expectations, not an official Central Bank forecast.
Exchange rate
Analysts anticipate an implied year-on-year depreciation of 4.40 % over 12 months and 3.98 % over 24 months, which would put the median exchange rate at RD$64.50 in October 2027 and RD$67.15 in October 2028; both horizons rose by more than two pesos from the previous survey. The BCRD attributes the revision mainly to the international context, the stance of monetary policy and the performance of foreign-exchange-generating sectors.

Inflation, growth and policy rate
Inflation expectations were stable across horizons except at 12 months, where the median fell from 4.70 % to 4.50 %. Expected real GDP growth for 2026 held at 4.50 % for a second month, while 2027 was revised down by one tenth to 4.40 %. Analysts expect the monetary policy rate to stay at 5.50 % through the end of 2026, rise to 5.75 % at the 12-month horizon and fall to 5.25 % at 24 months.
